A global gold rush for buried hydrogen is underway — as hype builds over its clean energy potential

In the USA, where the USA Federal administration is banking billions of dollars that clean hydrogen will help the United States reach its climate goals, research published in March by global intelligence firm Rystad Energy described the accelerating pursuit of naturally occurring hydrogen in the country as a “white gold rush” due to its potential to be a gamechanger in the clean energy transition.

This is great news for HyTerra as an early mover in the exploration of white hydrogen in the United States. We see the rush of new companies joining natural hydrogen exploration as an opportunity to learn together, have conversations and successfully grow the industry.

We can see the rush has started already as an article by CNBC points out, research published by Rystad Energy showed that 40 companies were actively searching for geologic hydrogen deposits by the end of last year — up from just 10 in 2020.
