Avon McIntyre
Executive Director & CTO
Avon has more than 20 years’ experience in minerals and oil and gas exploration industries, with roles in government, service and operating companies. He worked for Shell in Australia and internationally in new ventures and new energies from 2008 to 2021, during which time he developed an interest in natural hydrogen and helium occurrences.
Russell Brimage
Non-Executive Chairman
Russell has over 40 years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, ranging from public listed oil & gas companies to the service industry – both onshore and offshore. He has served in the capacity of Operations Manager and CEO on several ASX listed entities since 1997. Currently he is a Non-Executive Director of Lion Energy (ASX: LIO).
John Langoulant AO
Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr Langoulant brings extensive senior leadership, governance and infrastructure experience across the public and private sectors. He has served as Western Australia’s Agent General for the United Kingdom and Europe, Under Treasurer of Western Australia and as Chief Executive Officer of Australian Capital Equity, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia and Mitsubishi Corporation’s Oakajee Port and Rail project.
His previous Board Chair roles include the Government Employees Superannuation Board, Power and Water Corporation, Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, Rottnest Island Authority and the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
Mr Langoulant is currently a Director of Australian Gas Infrastructure Group and Western Australian Chair of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Senior Associate with ACIL Allen and separately consults to the Australian Department of Defence and Legacie Water Infrastructure Ltd. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2010 for service to business and commerce.
Christine Nicolau
Non-Executive Director
Christine Nicolau is Group Manager Corporate Portfolio Management focusing on driving governance, management and administration of Fortescue’s interests via directorships across various Fortescue internal and external strategic growth subsidiaries spanning both Energy and Metals. In her previous role of Metals General Manager LATAM, Ms Nicolau coordinated Fortescue’s minerals business in Latin America, including exploration and project development. Ms Nicolau has been with Fortescue since 2010 and during this time has held a range of management positions, including Manager Corporate Development from September 2015 to 2018.
Spencer Davey
Non-Executive Director
Mr Davey brings more than 20 years of international experience across energy, corporate development and project origination. He is currently Head of Corporate Development and Project Origination for Energy at Fortescue, where he previously served as Global Head of Business Development. He was Chief Financial Officer of London-listed Ascent Resources plc and has held non-executive and board observer roles with energy and climate technology businesses Zhero and Mission Zero Technologies.
Riley Kemp
Chief Executive Officer
Mr Kemp is a strategic and commercially astute leader with over 15 years’ experience driving growth, investment and innovation across global energy and resources markets. He has a proven track record in building partnerships, leading high-performance cross-functional teams and delivering transformative projects from concept through to execution. Combining deep expertise in M&A and capital markets with a passion for sustainable energy and decarbonisation. Prior to joining HyTerra, Mr Kemp served as Corporate Development Manager at Australian energy and metals major Fortescue where he was responsible for advancing energy transition opportunities and delivering shareholder value.
Josh Whitcombe
Vice President Development and Operations
Dr Whitcombe has extensive experience in early-stage exploration and appraisal projects and was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Gold Hydrogen. Prior to this he held various executive roles with small to medium gas exploration and development companies in Australia. Dr Whitcombe commenced his career with Shell International and has experience in several overseas jurisdictions along with Australia. He has an honours degree and PhD in Environmental Engineering and an MBA. He is also a Chartered Chemical Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
