We recently tripled our lease acreage at the Nemaha hydrogen and helium project in Kansas, USA, from 12,880 to 39,000 acres ahead of drilling.
Â
The new leases provide an additional geological play to our drilling portfolio, as they are situated above a major geological feature known as the Mid-Continent Rift. The Mid-Continent Rift is a ~1 billion-year-old failed tectonic rift containing significant quantities of iron-rich minerals, the ideal candidates for hydrogen generation.
Â
Our predictive model for white hydrogen and helium in Kansas highlighted this area as particularly prospective and we are pleased to have executed the acquisition in record time.
Â
The recent backing from Andrew Forrest’s Fortescue and the new acreage position HyTerra nicely for a major drilling campaign.
